Our scenic mountain biking tour start at a parking lot in the middle of North Shore Temperate Rain Forest. If you are driving, it takes about 25 minutes to drive from downtown Vancouver. You can also take a short ferry from downtown Vancouver to North Vancouver and hop on a bus at the ferry terminal which takes you right to the entrance of the park.
Our scenic mountain biking tour starts every day at 10am sharp. First stop is a stunning lake in the middle of the rainforest. This stop offers great photo opportunities. After a brief stop by the lake, we take a paved bike-only road further into the rainforest. Along our route, there will be a number of rest stops with clean facilities and picnic tables. We will take as many breaks as you need because the pace of the tour will be dictated by your comfort level.
At some point, we will leave the paved bike road and dig further into the rainforest by taking a dirt trail down to the valley. Winding down the mountain, we will get to an opening with a picture-perfect view of the valley, surrounding mountains, and serene waterfalls in the background. We will take our lunch break here and enjoy the scenery.
After the lunch, we will follow a river down for about five miles and this route will also provide many photo opportunities. There will be a stunning backdrop for a selfie at every corner. Once we got to the bottom of the valley, we will take a magical trail back into the rainforest. This final leg of the ride will take us back to the parking lot we started. You can choose to ride or hike this final leg up the mountain or opt for one of our ebikes to make the ride as comfortable. Overall, our bike tour takes about three hours and a great majority of it is slight downhill with partial climbs.
At the end of our bike ride, we will have a short hike to see the famous Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. You can take many pictures and walk on a major suspension bridge. This will be an added bonus and an opportunity to wind down to wrap up the day. This entire trip is going to take about five hours depending on the pace of the group. You can get back to downtown Vancouver by dinner time if you head out right after the ride ends.
This bike tour is designed for riders who are not avid mountain bikers. Most of the trail is quite easy to ride for anyone. Our pace is set by the group members. We wait for everyone to take it easy and enjoy the scenery. We usually dismount and walk our bikes during the final climb back to the starting point which also offers a great hiking and photo opportunity to wrap up this amazing bike tour. Overall, our goal is to make sure everyone enjoys the bike tour and not feel rushed. No fun in riding fast and missing the beautiful scenery which is the whole point of this trip.
Throughout this bike tour, you will not believe you are only 25 minutes away from downtown Vancouver as it will feel like you are deep in the middle of untouched wilderness. In fact, that is because you will be deep in the middle of untouched wilderness.
